Abstract

When Politics Are Sacralized: Comparative Perspectives on Religious Claims and Nationalism For Raz-Krakotzkin, Jewish Zionism itself conveys the colonisation of the Jewish imagination by Christian restorationist and millenarian theologies and their reliance on biblicalism, conceptions of chosenness, and redemption (39-40). For Hroub, religion's role in Palestinian nationalism differs in function from Zionism's constitutive reliance on a religious (or biblical) grammar that established claims of "ownership" of the land.
