Abstract

The OPRL1 gene encodes the nociceptin opioid peptide (NOP) receptor, while the NOP and its endogenous ligand nociceptin/orphanin FQ(N/OFQ), as an important member of the endocannabinoid system, can regulate a variety of biological functions and neurological behaviors, which are closely related to pain and psychiatric disorders such as depressive disorders, psychoactive substance-induced disorders, and stress-related disorders. This paper reviews the research progress on the relationship of OPRL1 gene with pain and psychosomatic disorders. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
