In Andalusia, significant studies in the field of hadith were conducted. Competent hadith scholars were raised, leaving substantial works on the science of the hadith behind. One of these is al-Qurtubī's work. He compiled a seven-volume book on Sahīh Muslim. His commentary on Sahīh Muslim, in particular, provides a wide spectrum of commentary content. To understand the hadiths, he went to all of the sources, analyzed the hadiths holistically, and drew on other disciplines. Subsequent authors referred to his commentary and methods in the field of "ikhtilaf al-hadith". Al-Qurtubī's work contains a lot of information about the commenting approach. He attempts to clear up the ambiguities in the hadiths in the commentary. He employs Qur'anic verses, hadiths, and poems as needed to explain the subject. He goes down to the sources before him to describe the hadiths in depth.
