Abstract

Numerous illnesses can result in brief, asymptomatic syncopal episodes. Establishing ECG evidence of sinus node dysfunction/sick sinus syndrome is therefore essential before beginning treatment. Detailed laboratory findings in a 40 years old Female patient correlated with the clinical observation of cardiac rhythm disturbances in the sinus node, atria and atrioventricular (A-V) junction. Removal of a suppressive factor is necessary for the treatment of extrinsic causes of sinus node dysfunction. Full recovery was observed once metabolic parameters were eliminated.
