The focus of this article is a document from 1562 preserved in the archives of the Board of the Alhambra and Generalife in Granada. Based on the conceptual framework of the history of the emotions, we conduct an analysis of certain garments traditionally attributed to the Moriscos (or converted Moors), such as the marlota. We use these items of clothing to delve into the historical context of 16th-century Granada and explore the value and symbolism that might pertain to such attire, as well as the emotions invested in these garments.
