Abstract

In the present model, an EOQ inventory with perishable items is developed in which we assume that the demand function is exponentially decreasing with time with condition that shortages are not allowed and there is continuous replenishment of perishable items. The demand rate is considered to be a time-dependent exponential function and time-dependent holding cost. The deterioration of perishable items is constant. This model is solved systematically by reducing the total inventory time. The effectiveness of this model is depicted with the help of numerical examples which illustrate the model and its solution besides the sensitivity analysis of major parameters is performed to know the efficacy of the model. The optimality is illustrated with numerical values of system parameters and the graphical representations are given to depict the trend. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
