Abstract

The article present a 12-year observational study of United Kingdom (UK) Biobank data, which found that individuals with prediabetes, undiagnosed diabetes & diagnosed diabetes had a higher risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD), while those with low-normal blood glucose levels had a lower risk of CVD. It emphasizes the importance of addressing modifiable factors such as weight reduction, antihypertensive & statin medications to reduce CVD risk across the glycemic spectrum, especially among women.
