By the decision of the Bureau of the Central Committee of the LCP on 1958 June 27 the rector of Vilnius University, Juozas Bulavas, was removed from his position. He was accused of not implementing the party’s resolutions, ignoring the university’s party organization, emphasizing the national specifics of Lithuania, and promoting non-communist Lithuanian cadres.
