Abstract

This paper provides answers to questions concerning technology issues. Storage capacity depends on what one is putting into the repository and how big it is going to get. Note that prices vary wildly. For instance, Geek.com claimed that 1 terabyte drives were going for $1,2000 in January 2005, but Computerworld magazine claimed IBM would be selling 67 terabyte drives at $7,000 per terabyte. The laptop invented by Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) is part of a project called The $100 Laptop, which has great goal--to provide underprivileged children with portable computing. It turns out that one of the hardest obstacles to overcome when trying to accomplish this is not the display. It is the power source. MIT is using something called magnetic induction to charge a battery. One may remember Faraday's law by the same name, which basically states that when a magnet passes through a coil, it produces electricity. The same principle is applied to the laptop battery, which needs to be cranked in some way to build power.
