The article describes Sándor Ferenczi's last considerations on the metapsychology of trauma. The authors synthetically analyze the main texts written by the Hungarian psychoanalyst from 1928 until his death in 1933, including a short summary of The clinical diary (1932/1988), published posthumously. Also presented are some conclusions that refer to Ferenczi's highly probable influence on the theoretical and technical corpus of contemporary psychoanalysis, especially contributions related to countertransference and intersubjectivity.
