Planning SIB roundabout of Medan.

The SIB signalized intersection is connecting Jalan Adam Malik, Jalan Gatot Subroto, and Jalan Guru Patimpus. This intersection serves the important current that is the flow of outgoing and incoming traffic between the sub-districts of Medan, settlements, offices, trade and educational institutions. This intersection, where at certain times precisely during peak hours such as morning and evening often occur traffic problems. The high volume of traffic causes a long traffic jam. This research aims to evaluate the performance of the intersection to obtain a level of saturation from the intersection. Then the result of the analysis can be considered in planning a roundabout. Existing SIB signalized intersection analysis result shows the degree of saturation in each of the intersection arms has value as follows: intersection of Jalan Adam Malik 0.82, Jalan Guru Patimpus 0.45, and Jalan Gatot Subroto 1.68. According to IHCM, 1997, each of these arms has a service level D, D, and F. In the results of a new roundabout performance analysis obtained by VCR 0.71, delay 9.2 sec/pcu and service level C.
