Abstract
- The article focuses on the governments of Australia and Canada which have signed a Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA). The MRA enables both countries to accept each others good manufacturing practice (GMP) audits and inspection of the makers of prescription and over the counter medicines. GMP regulation is the cornerstone of ensuring that medicines on the market have been manufactured to the highest standards of safety and efficacy. The agreement will enable access to the latest products assessed to best regulatory standards in as short a timeframe as possible.
