Abstract

The article reports on the turnaround of the school districts across the U.S. with a shift toward the use of artificial intelligence (AI) chatbots like ChatGPT as educational tools after initial rejection of the technology. It shows the preparation of school districts to help students learn to navigate chatbots and to train teachers to use chatbots to aid in lesson planning and student learning. It raises concerns about potential cheating, misinformation and risks to student privacy.
