Abstract

Non-anemic patients showed no difference in the incidence of heart failure comparing PCI to CABG revascularization. CABG patients who were anemic at discharge were shown to have a higher mortality rate during follow-up compared to anemic PCI patients. This paper's analysis of the Gulf Left Main Registry also found a higher incidence of heart failure in anemic-at-discharge PCI patients at follow up compared to CABG patients with anemia at discharge. Percutaneous coronary intervention with drug-eluting stents versus coronary artery bypass grafting in left main coronary artery disease: an individual patient data meta-analysis.
