Abstract

The paper was to establish a method for the determination of glycyrrhizic acid in the crude extract of Codonopsis licorice as liquid feed material. The HPLC was performed on an Agilent-C18 column (4.6 mm×250 mm, 5 μm) with methanol-0.2 mol/L ammonium acetate and glacial acetic acid (67∶33∶1) as mobile phases. The column temperature was 30 ℃, the flow rate was 1.0 mL/min, and the detection wavelength was 250 nm. The results showed that the linear equation of glycyrrhizic acid was Y=7 775.2X-10.3. When the concentration of glycyrrhizic acid was in the range of 50~1 000 mg/L, the recovery was 96.09%, RSD was 1.13%. The study indicates that the method is accurate and reproducible, which is suitable for the determination of glycyrrhizic acid in the crude extract of Codonopsis licorice. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
