Artificial reefs have been used as successful beach protection works in various parts of the world. To apply them, it is necessary to establish the wave conditions to which they will be subjected, with the objective of the study obtaining the transmission coefficients as an indicator of their efficiency. The study was carried out in the narrow flume with an irregular wave hydraulic generator and wave measurement equipment controlled by computers, equipment with an account in the Laboratorio de Ingeniería Hidráulica de la Escuela Superior de Ingeniería y Arquitectura – Unidad Zacatenco del Instituto Politécnico Nacional de México. In the flume, a reduced physical model was implemented in which two reef sections were built, and the wave transmission coefficients were calculated, which were contrasted with formulations presented in the state of the art.
