Abstract

Integrated mandatory carbon pricing would amount to a climate change mitigation language all nations could speak regardless of political upheaval, to gauge the actual costs of high-carbon activities compared to low-carbon alternatives and channel hefty investment accordingly. As if Paris needed enhanced renown, in 2015 the city of light hosted the most significant international climate change negotiation in three decades, and forevermore the accord reached would be known as the Paris Agreement, the current touchstone for addressing climate change.
