Abstract

The article presents a study on the grain morphology of KNNLiLaTa0.1 piezoceramics obtained from the NaNbO3 precursor. It is mentioned that alternatives to lead zirconate titanate (PZT) compound are being sought due to high lead contents. The study focuses on the NaNbO3 precursor and establishes the correlation between its microstructural properties and the properties of KNNLiLaTa0.1. X-ray diffraction analysis and scanning electron microscopy were performed to study the morphology of the NaNbO3 and KNNLiLaTa0.1 systems. It was found that the KNNLiLaTa0.1 system presents a bimodal distribution of grain sizes due to the presence of dopants such as La. [Extracted from the article]
