Abstract

The article informs Radar remote sensing provides a new perspective on rainfall kinetic energy (RKE) and its role in soil erosion, challenging traditional empirical relations between RKE and rainfall intensity. The study presents global estimates of RKE based on raindrop microphysics, highlighting potential underestimations of RKE and rainfall erosivity with implications for soil erosion assessment and conservation practices, particularly in the context of climate change.
