Abstract

The article "Ecology and decoloniality: mutual implications" is a review of Sinivaldo Tavares' book, which discusses the intersection between the ecological paradigm and the decolonial perspective. The author analyzes the influence of hegemonic paradigms of the market, technoscience, and media on human culture, highlighting the emergence of the ecological paradigm as an alternative. He also explores the relationship between modernity, colonialism, and the racial division of labor, as well as discussing the naturalization of the market and technoscience. The text also addresses the relationship between technology, liberation theology, and the decolonial turn, arguing that technology is extracted from nature and raising questions about its impact on society. Finally, the author emphasizes the importance of ecotheology as an integrated approach to addressing the socio-environmental crisis. [Extracted from the article]
