Abstract

The article talks about the work of Las Patronas, a group of women in Mexico who provide food, lodging, and guidance to Central American migrants passing through the railway in Guadalupe la Patrona, Veracruz. Over the course of 28 years, they have supported migrant caravans and Central American mothers searching for their missing relatives. The article also highlights the importance of civil society in the migration issue and mentions different forms of migration, as well as the need for humanitarian aid along migration routes. Despite the challenges, the work of Las Patronas has been recognized as important in defending the human rights of migrants. [Extracted from the article]
