La LXIV Legislatura de México (2018-2021), ¿legislatura de la Paridad de Género?

In Mexico, the LXIV Legislature of the Chamber of Deputies was called the legislature of gender parity, as it was the first to be composed of parity. Therefore, it is interesting to analyze the position of its members regarding gender parity and to verify its impact on the perception of democracy. Based on the «Parliamentary Elites» survey, an index is created for each male and female legislator and provides information on their profile in favor of gender parity; the index is contrasted with questions about the perception of the stability of democracy, satisfaction with its functioning, as well as with the creation of a women's caucus and the elaboration of laws that develop the principle of equality. The results indicate a position in favor of gender parity responds positively in the previously mentioned contrasts. A Categorical Principal Component Analysis was applied, so that the variables are not chosen discretionally and allow capturing the essence of the variations in the data obtained from a survey that offers anonymous information.
