Abstract

Efficient gene modification in BSF has also recently been reported (Zhan I et al. i , [45]; Kou I et al. i , [17]), highlighting the possibility of revealing the functions of genes and selecting more economically beneficial strains. Dear Editor, Economic and population growth increasingly consume resources from the environment and present a major challenge regarding the management of waste. The comprehensive database BSFbase integrates multiple lines of omics data and other informative data on BSF. As modification by gene editing is an increasingly popular way of improving breeds, BSFbase provides a clustered regularly interspaced palindromic repeats (CRISPR) / CRISPR-associated protein 9 (Cas9) protocol and video protocol in "Source" with the aim of facilitating the effective application of this technology to BSF.
