Abstract

The experiment was carried out on the 1 000-tons scale of biomass hydrolysis of ethyl propionate and the production of furfural from the agricultural waste. The system uses two hydrolysis reaction, with high temperature and high pressure after acid hydrolysis, the hydrolysis solution is obtained containing furfural and levulinic acid. Hydrolysate after separation and purification process, the purity for 98.70% of furfural and purity for 98.67% of levulinic acid products were obtained, and the levulinic acid products continued its esterification reaction to ethanol, synthesized ethyl levulinate. The results showed that the yield of furfural was 62.57%, the yield of acetic acid was 51.07%, and the esterification yield of ethyl levulinic acid was 90.76%. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
