Polish Army Acquires Loara SHORAD System.

The article reports that the Polish Army took possession of its first Loara shortrange air-defense gun system. The first Loara will enter service in the airdefense battery of the 10th Armored Cavalry Brigade in Swietoszow, and the type will gradually replace obsolete ZSU-23-4Shilka systems. The Loara program reaches back to 1992, when the requirements were being developed. The development work started in 1995, with the basic concept to develop a mixed artillery and missile system consisting of the Loara R missile launcher and Loara A artillery system.
