Abstract
- The article presents a case-report of a 55-year-old male renal transplant patient who developed severe leg pain and "knots" in the lower extremities. It mentions that the diagnosis was Protothecosis caused by Prototheca wickerhamii, a rare disease caused by achlorophyllic algae, prevalent in the environment and particularly risky for immunocompromised individuals.
