Examines the associations between human herpesvirus 8 (HHV-8) seropositivity in Ugandan children their mothers and socioeconomic and environmental characteristics. Factors contributing to the occurrence of the transmission of HHV during childhood within families; Link between HHV-8 seropositivity and lower socioeconomic status; Interaction between child's age and mother's serostatus.
