Water-organic distribution constants are determined for oxalic, succinic, and glutaric acids. The constants can be related to the physicochemical characteristics of extractants by linear many-parameter equations that account for the ability of the extractants to specific and nonspecific solvation; therewith, the most important factor is basicity.
