• Collaborating with patient organisations and including patients in the whole process is important to increase the impact of the research. • SML recommendations/guidelines are needed to improve the standard of care. • An International/European SML patient registry is highly recommended. • Natural history of SML still needs to be completely defined. • Emerging non-clinical biomarkers may be helpful for SML patients longitudinal evaluation.
