Abstract: The relation between left ventricular electromechanical delay and the acute hemodynamic effect of right ventricular pacing was studied in heart failure patients with and without complete left bundle branch block. Whereas right ventricular pacing provided a shorter electromechanical delay that correlated with an improvement in left ventricular function in patients with left bundle branch block, the converse was observed in patients without left bundle branch block.
