Abstract

Reports that the boom in digital photography has sparked a backbiting squabble over the longevity of pictures made on home printers. Competition between printer makers eager to market their own lines of expensive specialty photo paper and big paper purveyors like retailer Staples Inc. and photo giant Eastman Kodak Co., neither of which makes inkjet printers of their own; Reference to the fact that as more people use digital cameras more are making homemade prints; Potential for disappointment with the shelf life of their photos; Reflection of how important paper remains in the age of digital photography.
