Abstract
- One of the development directions in the nanotechnology field is the synthesis of nanoparticles in the direction of green synthesis. In this study, Ag@AgCl nanoparticles were synthesized via the chemical reduction method using purple Cam leaf extract as reducing and capping/stability agents. The products were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Raman, field emission scanning electron microscope and UV–Vis techniques. The results XRD contributed to the Ag@AgCl nanoparticles were successfully synthesized with an average diameter of 15 nm. The ratio of Ag and AgCl depends on the volume of AgNO3 used. Raman spectroscopy indicates different group functions responsible for reducing agents and stabilizers in the reaction. The analysis by UV–vis spectra confirmed the formation of Ag@AgCl nanoparticles following the Lambert–Beer theorem and stabilize after 20 days. The Ag@AgCl nanoparticles exhibited the catalysis activity of decomposing red Congo, which is 6–31 times that of reaction without using catalysis. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
