Abstract
- The utilization of venovenous extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (V-V ECMO) in patients with ARDS has increased tremendously over the last two decades and peaked massively during the COVID-19 pandemic. The conventional ventilatory support versus extracorporeal membrane oxygenation for severe adult respiratory failure trial indicated that transferring ARDS patients to an ECMO center significantly decreased mortality or severe disability ([6]).
