LIBERTAD DE EXPRESIÓN Y LA FORMACIÓN DE LA OPINIÓN POLÍTICA EN HANNAH ARENDT: REFLEXIONES SOBRE EL ROL DE LA PRENSA EN LA ERA DE LA POSVERDAD.

This paper aims to highlight that the recognition of the factual truth is pivotal, if not essential, to the veracity of a political opinion, as Arendt advocates in her book Truth and Politics. We seek to emphasize that freedom of expression and opinion formation are directly related; and that, for the sake of freedom of speech, Arendt claims the role and political function of the press. In this way, the main points raised here will attend to the order of elaborating the relationship between freedom of expression and opinion formation, interrelating these two issues with the determining role of the press in a post-truth era.
