A morte de policiais no estado do Rio de Janeiro: o dilema de se ser vítima ou herói.

This paper aims to show how police killings in the State of Rio de Janeiro are politically mobilized by different sectors. According to the contextual situations in which the agents are involved, they can be classified as either heroes or victims. The research was developed from the analysis of cases of violence against policemen that generated mobilizations and repercussions in the social networks of politicians, public security institutions, and sympathizers of police organizations. This way it is shown the problems found in the corporation and in the public security policies of the state that affect not only the population but also the agents and the political divergences of the parties as to their resolution. I analyze the different positions and justifications mobilized, trying to corroborate with the theoretical references, a way of doing politics from the publicizing of suffering. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
