Abstract

The article investigates the case of terminal lakes or shrinking inland seas that expose salty particulates, metals and other compounds. Topics discussed are potential effect of dust from Salton Sea in California on the respiratory health of children, presence of arsenic in the bed of Great Salt Lake Utah, global water diversion and climate change, and approaches to mitigate dust emissions from dry lakes.
