QUALIDADE DE VIDA E ADESÃO AO TRATAMENTO DE PACIENTES COM HIPERTENSÃO ARTERIAL.

Contextualization: The quality of life of patients with Systemic Arterial Hypertension (SAH) is an importantpoint, considering the risks that the disease brings and for that to happen it is necessary that the patient adhere to the treatment as a whole, including the medicated. Objective: To assess quality of life and adherence to treatment in patients with SAH. Methods: Cross-sectional and observational study involving individuals diagnosed with SAH, aged 40 or over, of both sexes, with a diagnosis time of more than one year. The data were collected through online questionnaires (Google Forms) referring to personal, sociodemographic, anthropometric and clinical data. Quality of life was assessed by the MINICHAL questionnaire and medication adherence by the MGB questionnaire (Martín-Bayarre-Grau). The results were presented descriptively in absolute (n) and relative (%) frequencies for qualitative variables and, in mean and standard deviation for quantitative variables. Results: This study included 63 patients, age 60.5 ± 10 years, 37 (58.7%) women. Regarding quality of life, we obtained satisfactory results in the two factors of the MINICHAL questionnaire, where 82.5% say they have no difficulty in relating to other people and 77.8% do not feel chest pain without physical effort. As for adherence to treatment, 74.8% of the sample has partial adherence. Conclusion: Individuals with arterial hypertension had a good quality of life, reporting that the disease and treatment do not affect them and that they have partial adherence to treatment.
