Abstract

Digital health includes, among other initiatives, the use of big data analysis techniques and artificial intelligence (AI) for prevention, monitoring and surveillance purposes in health. Still in an experimental stage, applications of AI in health had its development accelerated due to the Covid-19 pandemic. To promote the development of digital technologies in health, and as a consequence of previous developments, the federal government established a Digital Health Strategy for Brazil. Inspired by the Global Digital Health Strategy of the World Health Organization, such strategy was unfolded into actions for massive data collection, such as: the National Network of Health Data (RNDS), which is bonded to the Connect SUS Program, and the prognostic of Open Health. This work, therefore, aims to approach the broader context of the public services digitalization, devoting special attention to the Digital Health Strategy for Brazil 2020-2028.
