Abstract

This study aims to analyze students' numeracy literacy skills based on emotional intelligence in learning mathematics and gender for class VIII in the academic year 2020-2021. The research method used is a qualitative research method with a qualitative descriptive research design. The subjects of this research are students of class VIII-8 SMPN 32 Jakarta. The instruments used are questionnaires, tests and interviews. Data analysis was carried out with data reduction techniques, data presentation and conclusion drawing. Checking the validity of the data in this study was carried out through a credibility test which included triangulation of sources, techniques and time. Before conducting the research, the researcher tested the validity and reliability of the instruments used. The results of the study concluded that: (1) students' numeracy literacy skills based on high and moderate emotional intelligence reached all four indicators or all indicators that had been determined. This is because students' answers in general can write and answer things related to each of the indicators of this research. (2) the numeracy literacy ability of students with low emotional intelligence only reached 1-2 indicators of the 4 indicators found in this study. This is because students with low emotional intelligence are often less able to write and answer matters relating to each of the indicators contained in this study. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
