Abstract

The article "Earth for All. A Survival Guide for our Planet" is a review of a report by the Club of Rome, which addresses the need for a societal readjustment to combat environmental damage and restore the social everyday world. The concept of sustainability is proposed as a replacement for environmental thinking, combining natural and social scientific approaches. The report presents scenarios for saving the world and discusses the abolition of inequality. Five extraordinary turnarounds for global justice are proposed, including a poverty turnaround, an inequality turnaround, an empowerment turnaround, a food turnaround, and an energy turnaround. The book concludes with a call to action and an explanation of the computational models and variables used. The text also describes the weakening of unions in the United States and comprehensive market reforms in China. It emphasizes that the growth of economies has implications for food supply and greenhouse gas emissions. Inequality is discussed as an important aspect, with wealthy individuals having a significant share of global emissions. Suggestions are made to reduce inequality, such as strengthening unions and introducing a wealth tax. The text also emphasizes the importance of social design for sustainable development.
