Abstract

Aspects of the development of a functional model of intercircuit interactions in a furnace for heating metal before rolling are discussed. The influence of the mill output on the total gas flow rate (thermal power supplied to the furnace) is studied. The results of regression analysis of the output–power relationship are presented. The causes of the low quality of the regression are shown. The furnace-output parameter is replaced by the mean residence time of workpieces in the furnace zones. A regression model with a determination coefficient of 0.917 is obtained. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
