Abstract

The article discusses the historical markers in New York State, which can provide some much-needed economic benefits to the municipalities in which they are placed. Every county in New York State has at least one historical marker, with the most in Cayuga County. There are some odd historical markers, such as the one in Onondaga County about the Cardiff Giant. These blue and yellow historical markers are a key resource to inform residents and hordes of tourists about the local history.
