Abstract
- The binary cycle technique for geothermal field power plants can use wells that are no longer used by using them as heating fluids, using natural gas as working fluid, is a profitable alternative. The DLSM-2 well in the DL Geothermal Field was chosen as a source of heating fluid because it still has a high pressure of 10.5 bar and a high temperature of 150oC, although with a small mass flow rate of 3 kg/s and a single-phase liquid brine fluid. In planning a binary cycle for a small-scale power plant, data analysis of the heating fluid is needed, the n-pentane working fluid used, and the thermodynamic cycle of the n-pentane working fluid. The heating fluid flows from the wellhead to the inlet of the heat exchanger and heats the working fluid. Heating fluid from the wellhead is flowed into the heat exchanger to heat the working fluid flowing from the feed pump. In this practical planning, it is necessary to choose equipment with appropriate specifications so that the binary cycle can run well and produce optimum electrical power. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
