Abstract

The main factor that causes soil degradation is water erosion. The characteristics, in relation to geology, geomorphology, soils and climate, are conditioning factors of the erosive processes at work. Anthropic intervention, on this substrate of the physical environment, modifies the ways in which erosive forces act. Among the laboratory tests that directly quantify soil erodibility, we have the Inderbitzen test. In this work, the use of the Inderbitzen assay in research in Brazil is studied, they present criticisms of the original model of the assay and equipment and procedures are developed in order to mitigate the variation in the results of the assays. For the study, three soils from the Cerrado of Goiás were selected, being from the metropolitan region of Goiânia. The soils have a different pedological texture and origin, being: Dystrophic RED LATOSOL (Soil 1), Dystrophic HABIC CAMBISSOL Ta (Soil 2) and Ortical QUARTZARENIC NEOSOL (Soil 3). Modifications to the Inderbitzen assay procedures and equipment were proposed, which caused good precision and repeatability. the results found. In Soils 2 and 3 there was little variation in soil loss due to the void index. For Solo 1, on the other hand, it showed a significant increase in soil loss with the increase in the void index.
