Abstract
- The article discusses E. Kelly and I. Stockton's report, published by the Institute for Fiscal Studies, which examined how the length of parental leave and rates of progression after having children differ by specialty, gender and other characteristics among nurses, midwives, doctors and dentists in the National Health Service (NHS) in England. Topics include the length of maternity leave by female nurses, findings on women in male-dominated specialties, and career development of NHS staff.
