Lluís Torner has been appointed as a Full Member Academician of the Royal Academy of Sciences (RAC) in the Section of Physics and Chemistry. Torner is internationally recognized for his scientific contributions in the study of the properties and applications of optical solitons and photons, as well as light beams with vorticity. Additionally, Marisol Martín González has been appointed as a Corresponding Academician of the Physics and Chemistry Section of the RAC. Martín González is a research professor at the Institute of Micro and Nanotechnology (IMN) of the CSIC, and her research focuses on devices for more efficient heat collection and management to produce clean energy.
