Abstract
- The implementation of parameter optimization in a hybrid Micro-perforated panel (HMPP) aims to improve absorption performance as a perfect sound absorber. However, there is a valley in the absorption coefficient curve which reduces the average absorption coefficient value. This study implements optimization techniques to allow HMPP to be a perfect absorber and broadband sound absorber. For this reason, optimization uses three heuristic optimization methods that are widely applied in absorber systems, namely Genetic Algorithm (GA), Simulated Annealing (SA), and Cuckoo Search Algorithm (CSA). The results obtained will be discussed to compare the performance of each method in the case of HMPP to achieve the target of a broader and perfect absorption range. The fitness value is the maximum average value of the highest absorption coefficient over the optimization frequency range. The optimization result of HMPP at a frequency of 100-3000 Hz is 78.5% for SA, 81.6% for GA, and 88.5% for CSA. CSA produces the highest fitness value. Thus, CSA method optimization is the best in overall. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
