Fabrication and structural analysis of morphing wing of UAV.

Abstract
- This paper explains the design, fabrication and structural analysis of spanwise morphing wing. The airfoil selected for the wing is Clark Y and the material used for the fabrication of the wing is balsa wood. The Clark Y airfoil is a thick one and the mechanism used to extend the wingspan is accommodated. The pressure loads are calculated when the airplane is flying at speed of 10m/s and 20m/s. The deformation of the structure due to the pressure loads are estimated. The stresses induced in the structure are analyzed with Ansys. The stresses are found to be high at the wing tips ,at the extension point and found to be within the acceptable levels. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
