Layered Ag(I) coordination polymer: photocatalytic property and therapeutic effects on neonatal pneumonia.

Abstract
- A new Ag(I) boron imidazolate framework with the chemical formula of {Ag[BH(im)3]}n (1, BH(im)3− = tri(imidazolyl)borate) has been synthesized by the self-assembly of Ag(I) and tridentate boron imidazolate ligand. This compound shows intense luminescence and outstanding photocatalytic activity for the Rhodamine B degradation with an irradiation of ultraviolet. Moreover, the compound's therapeutic effects on neonatal pneumonia were explored and the corresponding mechanism was tested in meantime. The enzyme linked immunosorbent assay detection was firstly conducted to measure the content of inflammatory cytokines released into the bronchoalveolar lavage fluid. Then, the activation of JNK/MAPK signaling pathway activation in the alveolar epithelial cells was measured with the real-time reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction. Finally, the cytotoxicity of the complex was determined with Cell Counting Kit (CCK-8) assay. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
