From River Tisza to the Tiszafüred Main Irrigation Channel – which has a calming pool with 16 m diameter – lifted 2–4 cubic meters of water per sec by pumps. In autumn, the main channel needs less water. Therefore, the pumps stop working, and the water of the channel flows away, but in the deep calming pool, plenty of small fish, which come to River Tisza, remain. In 2001 we could sample fish in the calming pool, and in 2021 we get an opportunity to repeat that. The sampling data prove that 50 years later, rheophilic species still exist on the upstream side of the Dam of River Tisza at Kisköre. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
